'Samarasimha Reddy welcomes Arjun Reddy' was what Nandamuri Balakrishna told on his talk show Unstoppable, on aha, as he invited actor Vijay Deverakonda to share the dias alongside his Liger director Puri Jagannadh and producer Charmee Kaur. In terms of budget and the scale of the project, Liger is extremely crucial to both the careers of its actor and the director, who haven't had a theatrical release in over two years.

Vijay Deverakonda in the show discussed why Liger would always be special for him. Incidentally, the actor's father Goverdhan Rao and Puri Jagannadh were batch mates at the famous Madhu Film Institute in Hyderabad and share a warm rapport with one another. Balakrishna, on a lighter note, even joked with Vijay Deverakonda if he referred to Puri Jagannadh as 'uncle' at any point during the shoot of Liger.

"Many people have been asking me what it means to shoot with Puri Jagannadh for Liger and I have only one thing to say. I feel he's a small child at heart. While those who've been around in the industry for long believe that they know it all and have conquered everything, he is always looking for newer opportunities to learn. His enthusiasm is similar to a newcomer who's just making a mark in the industry," Vijay Deverakonda said.

"Puri (garu) is constantly talking to everyone in the set and open for conversations with anyone and everyone, from the set boy to the actors. He's constantly relooking, revisiting the script, improvising it. As an actor, it's very fulfilling and relieving when a filmmaker is doing his best for the project every day. Whenever I wanted to work with him, I hoped to a project that'll shake the nation and here we're," he added.

The star said that he was mentally in the right state to do the film in this stage of the career. "Probably, if the film was offered to me a couple of years, I wasn't sure if I would've been confident or ready to take it up," Vijay stated. Liger, also starring Ananya Pandey, Mike Tyson, Ramya Krishna and Ronit Roy, will hit theatres in all South Indian languages and Hindi on August 25 this year.
