The key to survival in a rapidly evolving entertainment industry is to adapt to the times and needless to say, that's a primary reason why television host Suma continues to be a major force for over two-and-a-half decades on the small screen. Having hosted OTT platform aha's first talk show All is Well last year and entertaining audiences with her witty videos for the Sumakka series, the host is giving another shot at a digital channel, named after herself. Popular actor, producer Vijay Deverakonda launched the channel 'Suma' at the lawns of his Hyderabad residence earlier this week.

Suma and Vijay Deverakonda were at their casual best at the launch, discussing life before and after COVID-19, how one needs to 'rewire, reschedule and recreate', the actor's forthcoming pan-Indian release Liger, besides offering a glimpse of the content that would release on the channel. Suma's latest digital endeavour will see her produce, be part of brief comedy snippets, cooking videos, content about health, films to name a few. At the launch, Vijay was given a pickle jar whose items he had to unwrap one after the other, including a Santa cap, a mask, a mango and ultimately a mobile through which he officially unveiled the channel.

"Anytime when I have a crazy idea to promote my films, Suma (garu) is the first name that comes to my mind. You (referring to Suma) have been there by my side in my early days in the industry since Taxiwaala. This (launch) is the least I could do," Vijay Deverakonda said. Talking about his upcoming film Liger, he stated that the film was 65% complete except for a few bulky sequences featuring huge crowds. "Our target is to finish the shoot at the earliest. Bringing in crowds of that number will be a challenge in the current scenario but we'll have to work it out," he added. The actor's pet, Storm, also made its presence felt in the launch video.
