The Liger actor was at his spontaneous best speaking at a song launch event for the film Rowdy Boys
The most attractive side to Vijay Deverakonda isn't his acting or his jawline, it's his no-holds-barred talks on stage, like a boy-next-door buddy, mincing no words, being funny and instantly relatable to gen-Z. He has constantly identified himself as a 'Rowdy', a man with a rebellious spirit, who fears none and is committed to reaching his goal, no matter what.
The Liger star was the special guest at the Rowdy Boys music event in Hyderabad, where the song Preme Aakasamaithe, a catchy romantic track was launched amidst huge crowds. He had special words to share about Rowdy Boys, the director Harsha Konuganti, the lead actors Ashish, Anupama Parameswaran in addition to producers Raju and Shirish at the event.
"I am so happy to be spreading the word about Rowdy Boys in some form. I feel lucky to have spent time with the cast and crew of the film at various phases of my life, be it Ashish, Anupama, Dil Raju (garu) and Harsha. I and Harsha go back a long way, right from the days we were dreamers, aiming to make it big in films. I kept hearing a lot of stories from him back then, including Hushaaru, and he understands the college atmosphere/ambience to perfection. I'm very sure he would have nailed it in Rowdy Boys as well. I hope he scores a hit yet again after Hushaaru," Vijay mentioned.
Opening up about the lead actor, "Ashish and I met just before the shoot of Rowdy Boys began. I don't remember what we spoke but I can recollect he was so curious about the filmmaking process, how to conduct himself on set and perform on screen. His father (Shirish) and his uncle have come all the way from Nizamabad and are ruling the roost in films, real estate and whatnot. I see that his father is already nervous about the film, just like how my dad was, with my first film. I'm sure he'll do them proud. Everything associated with the first film is always special. I hope he treasures these experiences," he stated.
Vijay reminisced Anupama's Premam days as a teenage girl Mary at the event and shared that the actress has blossomed into a beautiful woman now and added that she can light up the screen with whatever she does. Talking about producer Dil Raju, he said, "I may be a Rowdy today and the film may have a Rowdy gang but Dil Raju and Shirish are the actual rowdies who created a path for themselves out of nowhere. I know the struggle it takes to reach such heights and it's so inspiring that Dil Raju never rests on his laurels and still works every day with the same enthusiasm.
He talked of various occasions where he missed working with Dil Raju in the past. "I was supposed to work on Kerintha with him and we had also planned to collaborate for Pelli Choopulu, though both didn't materialise. I always had a dream to be associated with his banner for a project in a brief role at least. I can assure you that I and Dil Raju are committed to collaborating on something big that it'll blow your minds when we make an announcement about it."
