Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger gets a new release date in 2022

The first glimpse of Liger will be unveiled on December 31, 2021.

The Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger has got a new release date of 2022. The film was set to hit the big screens in September this year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shoot got delayed, thus the release date. Now, the pan-Indian film Liger is set to hit the big screens on August 25, 2022. Moreover, the makers also announced that a glimpse of the action film will be out on December 31, 2021.

The announcement read, "Liger: Saala Crossbreed-The pan-Indian movie is ready to splash its blood, sweat, and entertainment. It will be released in theatres worldwide on August 25, 2022. Catch a glimpse of the madness on December 31. This New Year aag laga denge."

While Karan Johar, who is co-producing with Liger, captioned the post as "THE ACTION, THE THRILL & THE MADNESS-it’s going to be a total knockout! #Liger arrives in theatres worldwide on August 25, 2022. #LigerOnAug25th2022. Catch the first glimpse on December 31st and start your new year with a BANG!"

Liger is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Jagannadh have co-produced the film. The forthcoming movie is set to hit the screens in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

With this film, Mike Tyson will make his acting debut in the Indian film industry. Whereas Ramya Krishnan has a supporting role in Liger.

Earlier, during an interview, Vijay had heaped praise on Ananya. The actor has said that everyone is doing their job and working hard because they want their career to be successful and they want to do their best. The Arjun Reddy actor shared that the film industry is a highly competitive one in which only success ensures survival. If one wants to survive, they must be able to deliver a performance; otherwise, no one can help them after a certain point, Vijay said in the interview. He added that to be relevant in the industry, they all have to work their tails off.

Vijay added that Ananya puts in a lot of effort and does a great job in Liger. He concluded by saying that when people see what she's done, they'll all fall in love with her.
