The much-awaited shoot for Vijay’s next will begin this month
If rumour mills are to go by, the much-awaited shoot of Thalapathy Vijay’s next with director Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to begin this month. The buzz is that the puja will be held on December 5. The film’s director Lokesh Kanagaraj had earlier revealed that the shoot for the film was expected to begin in December and that he was busy with the pre-production work. The film, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy67, is likely to have South Queen Trisha as the leading lady. If Trisha indeed comes on board, the film will mark the comeback of the hit duo of Ghilli, Tirupaachi, Aathi and Kuruvi, after a long hiatus of 15 years.
Reports also state that a promotional video of the film will be shot just like Lokesh Kanagaraj did for his previous directorial venture Vikram, which had Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in the lead. The film turned out to be one of the biggest hits of Lokesh and Kamal Haasan’s career. However, an official confirmation is awaited on the aforesaid news.
In the meantime, we hear that a number of actors have been approached which includes Sanjay Dutt to play the leading antagonist, Vishal, Nivin Pauly, Mathew Thomas, Arjun Sarja, to name a few.
Vijay is currently busy with the final works of his Pongal release Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidpally. While the shoot for the film has been wrapped up, the team is currently shooting the songs and soon pre-production work will begin. As the film gears up to release for Pongal, it will clash with Ajith’s heist thriller Thunivu, which is helmed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. It’s been a while since films of both actors hit screens at the same time, and fans are eagerly awaiting the clash. Though both films are slated for Pongal release, the exact dates are yet to be announced by the respective production houses.
