The Vinay Forrt-starrer Aattam has received high appreciation from filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. It is now available to stream on Amazon Prime. The actor, lyricist, and producer called the Malayalam film “outstanding” after watching it on the digital platform. He also lauded the exciting moments of the movie, especially the climax.
Those who missed Aattam in theatres in Kerala and Tamil Nadu have been sharing positive reviews for the film after its OTT release. On January 5, the Anand Ekarshi-directed film debuted in theatres. On social media, directors like Aashiq Abu also expressed their appreciation for Anand and the Aattam cast.

Since Aattam was not showing on many screens in the state, fans were eagerly awaiting its digital release. But because of its gripping story, strong performances, and slice-of-life elements, it won over both audiences and critics.
Aattam won praise for its portrayal of the harrowing reality of the stereotyped mentality that still exists in our society today, depriving people of their right to privacy and the truth. They have deftly incorporated a subplot about workplace harassment, showing how anyone can become a victim of circumstances regardless of gender.

The characters in Aattam are its strongest feature; they are not shown as perfect representations of themselves but rather as flawed individuals. The creators have also given considerable thought to the unpleasant reality that, frequently, one's convenience or personal gain take precedence over the search for the truth or the victim's justice.
Overall, Anand Ekarshi's Aattam is a deft analysis of how people can modify their statements based on their own interests in a range of circumstances. Yet it is a succinct examination of a scenario in which a person—regardless of gender—is held responsible for the convenience of others.
At the 28th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), Aattam was highly praised by moviegoers. The film also won the Best Malayalam Film Award at the event.
