The sequel of Khuda Hafiz titled Khuda Hafiz Chapter II: Agni Pariksha has started production.
Faruk Ali, the director of Khuda Hafiz has been signed on to direct the film. Vidyut Jamwal will reprise his role as the lead and will be paired opposite Shivaleeka Oberoi. Aahana Kumra, Annu Kapoor, Nawab Shah, Shiv Pandit and Vipin Sharma will also be seen in key roles.
Vidyut took to his Twitter handle to share the news through a post of his picture beside Shivaleeka, Faruk. Abhishek Pathak and Kumar Mangat Pathak who is holding a clapperboard with ‘Mahurat’ written on it. Tagging everyone in the post, Vidyut announced that the film hits the floors, billing it asa story ‘meant to redefine intense’, chronicling on the journey of a couple who are up against societal pressures and a turmoil to deal with
He went on to state how the sequel is special to him and the story connects with him because it addresses what happens after a happy ending.
Abhishek Pathak, producer at Panorama Studios is bankrolling the film. Pathak said that the sequel was conceptualised and finalised on drawing from the ‘phenomenal response’ from Khuda Hafiz for Chapter II. Commenting on the plotline that is an intense action drama, he said “We have an engaging and a thrilling story for the audience.”
Faruk Kabir, who has also written the film said that he hopes to convey the ‘heartfelt essence’ of the tumultuous journey of the characters and present the film with a large canvas and a big heart.
Khuda Hafiz was digitally released in 2020 on Disney+ Hotstar. The story revolved around an Indian couple after the economic crisis in 2020. Sameer (Vidyut Jamwal) sets out to search for his missing wife Nargis (Shivaleeka Oberoi) in the Middle East and save her when she gets caught in trafficking.
The shooting of the film will take place in Mumbai and another schedule in Lucknow.
