Vidya Balan's ‘Sherni’ title track Main Sherni is a tribute to women, Watch

Sherni is scheduled to exclusively premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 18,

Amazon Prime finally launched the highly anticipated and energetic title track Main Sherni from the upcoming film Sherni, on Tuesday, June 15. Main Sherni song features Vidya Balan and the lead singers Akasa and Raftaar along with a few brave women from across the country. Some of them include the likes of Natasha Noel, a body positivity influencer, Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju, who is the first transgender doctor in Karnataka, Mira Erda, who is an F4 Racer from India, Riddhi Arya, a student who delivers food to frontline warriors, Eshna Kutty, who is a hula-hoop dancer and a social media influencer among others. ,

The lyrics for this catchy song have been penned by Raghav and the music has been composed by Utkarsh Dhotekar. Sung by Akasa, Main Sherni also features an upbeat rap by ace rapper Raftaar.

Vidya appreciated and shared her own views about the song and said in a statement, “The music video Main Sherni is our tribute to all the women across the globe who have this indomitable spirit of never giving up. Sherni is special for all of us and with this film and music video, we are celebrating women who have shown us that there is nothing a woman can’t do. Just like Vidya Vincent, my character in the movie, we want to show that women are fearless and powerful ... and that you don’t have to roar to be a tigress. This is what we have tried to capture in this anthem .”,

When asked if the song is going to play a huge part in inspiring people and especially young girls of our nation, Vidya told OTTplay during a virtual launch event, “Yes, I think so. I may be biased because I loved the track but I believe if you ask me this question, you also feel the same way.”,

“I think there are many songs that inspire women. Look at the time when women used to feature in the song and tell their stories about overcoming the insurmountable issues in life and still standing strong,” the Sherni star added further.

At the virtual song launch event, all the guests were asked about the real Shernis of their lives, to which all of them replied with the same answer and attributed the title to their mother.

Starring Vidya Balan in the lead, Sherni is going to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 18. ,
