Vidya Balan is thrilled that her new film, Neeyat, is getting a theatrical release. During a recent press meet ahead of the release of the film, the actor said that she cannot keep calm since her film is worth watching on a 70-mm screen.

Neeyat revolves around the mysterious murder of a rich man and how Vidya's character, Mira Rao, is tasked with uncovering the truth.

Speaking about her frame of mind ahead of seeing a film of hers release in theatres after a long gap, Vidya said, "I am very excited. My last theatre release was Mission Mangal (2019), which really did well at the box office. Fingers crossed, people will go to theatres to watch Neeyat as well, love it, and watch it over and over again because they just might need to. So, more than feeling pressure, I feel a lot of excitement. Promoting a film really helps with keeping the pressure away, since we are constantly occupied and just tired."

Even though she has not had a theatrical release, Vidya has been a part of several projects, all of which were released on OTT platforms. This includes Shakuntala Devi, Jalsa, and Sherni.

Speaking about her OTT releases, Vidya said, "Those films were released on Amazon Prime Video because of the obvious reason of the pandemic. The good thing was that, despite the pandemic, we got the chance to share our work with everyone. Now that normalcy is returning, a film like Neeyat is seeing a theatrical release. It is going to be a great experience for the audience to watch this film on the big screen."

Neeyat is produced by Abundantia Entertainment and also stars Ram Kapoor, Shahana Goswami, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Niki Walia, and Prajakta Koli. It will release in theatre on July 7.
