The protagonist of Viduthalai narrated the incident during the film's trailer and audio launch
The audio and trailer launch of Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai was held in Chennai recently which was attended by almost the entire cast and crew. The trailer, which was released on the occasion, has already surpassed 15 million views. The story's protagonist Soori has been receiving a lot of accolades for his performance in the film.
In the meantime, the actor narrated a funny incident on the set where he was mistaken for Suriya by an old woman. He said that he was a tad upset with the film's cinematographer Velraj for the same. "During the shoot of the film, cinematographer Velraj sir told me that an old woman had been visiting the set every day looking for me. I told him that I will meet her tomorrow but she didn't turn up. Velraj sir said that the woman was either coming to the sets before I arrived or after I left. I said that I will definitely meet her the next day. "
Soori said that the next day, Velraj's boys came to him and told him that her house was nearby and asked him to meet her there. "The moment someone from the team announced about my arrival, she left her food unfinished and came running. She then embraced me in a warm hug and gave me a peck on cheek. She then asked how I was so dark when I looked fair on screen. I said that they have given me a tan for the character in the film."
Soori then revealed the moment when he was taken aback. "She then stated that she was a huge fan of my father. She said ' I love your father's Rosappu Ravikkakari and Aranmanaikili. The first film that I watched after my wedding was Rosappu Ravikkakari'. That's when I realised that she had mistaken me for Suriya. I asked her whom she was talking about and she asked if I was Sivakumar's (veteran actor and Suriya's father) son. 'I heard your brother (Karthi) , too, is acting'.
He added, "I then told her that I was not Sivakumar sir's son. 'How handsome does Suriya look? How can you mistake me for him?' She asked what my father did and I said that he was a businessman who dealt with cows. She then questioned what I was doing there and I replied that I was the hero of a film. She fled the scene immediately, went inside her home and shut the door."
