Vidaamuyarchi, the upcoming Ajith Kumar starrer directed by Magizh Thirumeni, might not hit the theatres by the end of 2024 as planned earlier. Read details here...
Vidaamuyarchi is unarguably one of the most anticipated upcoming projects of Tamil cinema. The movie, which stars Ajith Kumar in the lead role, is helmed by talented filmmaker Magizh Thirumeni. Earlier, it was reported that the action-drama film might hit the theatres by the final quarter of 2024, mostly as a Deepavali 2024 special release. But the grapevine now suggests that the release of Vidaamuyarchi has been pushed to 2025.
If the recent updates are to be believed, the release of Vidaamuyarchi has been postponed to Pongal 2025. The movie, which was initially planned for an October 2024 release, is not hitting the theatres this year. The decision has been changed, as it is impossible to have a grand release as per plans due to multiple clash releases. Lyca Productions, the banner that bankrolls the Ajith Kumar starrer is reportedly keen to have a clash-free release for the film. While considering the list of upcoming releases in the final quarter of 2024, this seems highly unlikely.

Vettaiyan, the Rajinikanth-starrer produced by Lyca Productions, is slated to be released on October 10, 2024, as an Ayudha Pooja special release. So, it is impossible for the banner to slate another massive project like Vidaamuyarchi for release in the same month. Even though the team was later considering a November 2024 release for the film, it is reportedly being reconsidered due to the change in the release plans of Kanguva, the upcoming Suriya-starrer. However, these reports are not officially confirmed, yet.

Director Magizh Thirumeni and his team reportedly finished filming all major portions of the film, and just a song sequence is now pending. Ajith Kumar reportedly plays a character named Arjun in Vidaamuyarchi, which stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. Arjun Sarja plays the lead antagonist in the film, which features Regina Cassandra, Arav, Nikhil Nair, Ganesh Saravanan, Dasarathi, and others in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music score. Om Prakash is the director of photography. NB Srikanth handles the editing.
