Vidaamuyarchi is a road-action drama which marks the maiden collaboration between actor Ajith Kumar and director Magizh Thirumeni
‘Thala’ Ajith Kumar’s eagerly anticipated film Vidaamuyarchi is currently under production. The team began shooting for the film in Azerbaijan in October, after which the actor returned to Chennai after a schedule wrap. Now, we hear that Thala will be heading back to Azerbaijan for the next schedule, which is slated to commence on December 7. Magizh Thirumeni is directing Vidaamuyarchi, which features Trisha in the lead role. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music.
Ajith joins team Vidaamuyarchi for the next schedule in Azerbaijan
The shoot of the much-anticipated film is speculated to go on for 70 days. The Thunivu star is expected to leave for Azerbaijan for the next schedule. Earlier, the crew members of the film were in for a shock when art director Milan passed away due to a heart attack. He was with the makers in Azerbaijan when the incident took place and his body was taken to Chennai the next day.
The film is touted to be a road-action drama and Ajith will reportedly perform a stylish chase sequence. The entire filming is planned to be wrapped up by the end of January 2024 and the film is aiming for a grand Diwali 2024 release.
Vidaamuyarchi, produced by Lyca Productions, features Ajith in a dual role and also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arun Vijay, Arjun, Regina Cassandra, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Arjun Das. The cinematography is handled by Nirav Shah, while editing is done by NB Srikanth.
Sanjay Dutt is the antagonist of Vidaamuyarchi
As reported earlier, Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist in the film. The movie is the Bollywood star's second outing in Tamil after Leo. It is now reported that Arjun will also play a character with grey shades in the movie. Interestingly, the duo has shared screen space in Leo. Trisha and Anirudh are other common factors with Leo and Vidaamuyarchi.
Maiden collaboration between Ajith and Magizh Thirumeni
Magizh Thirumeni last helmed the thriller Kalaga Thalaivan. Vidaamuyarchi is the maiden collaboration between Magizh and Ajith. After Thunivu, Ajith was slated to work with Vignesh Shivan. However, the director was shelved from the project after his final script didn't appeal to the production house. Later, Magizh was brought on board.
