The Stree references will no longer exist in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video after Tuesday, October 15
Did you also notice ‘Stree’ in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video? Well, the makers of Stree were not too pleased to notice somebody from their universe in another Rajkummar Rao film. The result? Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video director Raaj Shaandilyaa had to issue an apology and take down all the content related to that franchise. Here’s his apology letter…
Raaj Shaandilyaa extended his sincere and unconditional apology for the use of the character of Stree and her dialogue in his upcoming movie, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. This happened because the makers of Stree – Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Universe – had not approved of the use. Thus, it was copyright infringement. Raaj apologized for the same.
Yes, the Stree references that you witnessed in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video will no longer exist. The makers are editing out the content which belongs to the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Thus, there will be no Stree reference even in theatres now. The movie has already released and the new versions will be without these very references. “We are taking immediate steps to rectify the issue and are in the process of removing all infringing content from our film wherein we have used character and dialogue from Maddock Films Stree at the earliest,” Raaj shared, adding that the makers would need a deadline of Tuesday, October 15 for the content to be edited out. With that, the makers promised not to repeat their actions.
If it wasn’t obvious already, Raaj confirmed that Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is in no way associated with Stree or Stree 2, which means it is not a part of the Maddock Horror Universe either. With that, he has stated that they have no claims over any content that is released by Maddock Universe, especially in the franchise.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video features Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. It is out in theatres and is seeing a decent Box Office collection so far.
