It's festive vibes all around and director TJ Gnanavel has just dropped the most exciting poster of the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share the latest poster from the film, showcasing Rajinikanth in his action-cop avatar. The superstar is seen in a gritty look with a pair of black shades. The poster also showcases a crowd surging forward, and the veteran superstar pointing his gun upward in an effortless pose. The new poster, released on the occasion of Pongal, has become a fan favourite, and we totally agree that it's indeed Thalaivar coded! One X fan commented, “Thalaivaa! What a swag”(sic).

Directed by T J Gnanavel, the movie also features a stellar star cast including Bollywood’s legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles.

Is Vettaiyan getting a 2024 summer release?

Fans are eagerly waiting for the release date announcement of the most-anticipated Tamil film, Vettaiyan. However, as per latest reports, Vettaiyan is slated to hit the big screens in April 2024. If the reports are true, the TJ Gnanavel directorial might hit the theatres in the second week of April 2024, coinciding with the Tamil New Year. However, the release date will only be confirmed after the team wraps up the shooting of the Rajinikanth-starrer.

Vettaiyan inspired from a real-life story

The title, Vettaiyan, which was inspired by one of the iconic characters played by Rajinikanth in the 2005 horror-comedy movie Chandramukhi, is not the only interesting aspect of the film. As per reports, the film is inspired by the real-life story of a retired cop who fights against the system to reopen a case for the pursuit of justice. Although the story is very similar to the superstar’s last blockbuster outing Jailer, fans are convinced that the multi-starrer project has a lot more to offer! Nonetheless, the star-studded film with an intriguing storyline heightens the hype around the film among audiences.

The film’s teaser, which was released earlier, showcases Rajinikanth reading a book about Subhash Chandra Bose, hinting at the character's core ideology. The film is touted to be an action-packed film with a strong social message.
