Veteran Kannada theatre and film actress Bhargavi Narayan passes away

The mother of actors Prakash and Sudha Belawadi and grandmother of Samyukta Hornad had been battling age-related issues for a while. She was 84 at the time of her passing.

Veteran actress Bhargavi Narayan passed away following age-related issues

At 7.30 pm today, veteran theatre and film actress and Rajyotsava award winner Bhargavi Narayan passed away. The wife of late Belavadi Nanjundaiah Narayana, who was better known as Makeup Nani in industry circles, Bhargavi was a part of over 600 plays and several films, and leaves behind a rich legacy of work, including her state award winning role for Best Supporting Actress in Professor Huchuraya, as well as Eradu Kanasu with the late matinee idol, Dr Rajkumar, among others. Her granddaughter, actress Samyukta Hornad took to social media to break the sad news, writing, “My grandma, Bhargavi Narayan, Ajji Bhajji to all, passed away at around 7.30 pm this evening, 14/2/2022. The body will be kept at our family home - Greenroom, 276/C, 37th A Cross, 8th Block Jayanagar, till 11 AM tomorrow, 15th Feb.”, along with an image of the late actress.

Bhargavi, who turned 84 on February 4, was reportedly battling age-related complications for a while, and succumbed this evening. She is survived by her children, Sujatha, Sudha, Prakash and Pradeep.
