After successfully running in the theatres, the Tamil film, Veppam Kulir Mazhai, is now ready to rule the OTT platform. Directed by debutant Pascal Vedamuthu, the film had a budget of Rs.2 crore. Starring Dhirav and Ismath Banu in the leads, the story sheds light on the true nature of society, and how it treats people who have failed to make children due to their untreatable physical illness. Although we have seen several films focusing on the same issue, this film exhibits the unimaginable emotional turmoil of the father.

Story of Veppam Kulir Mazhai

Veppam Kulir Mazhai begins with Petthaperumal and Paandi’s extravaganza marriage. Both the families and all the relatives make the day iconic and memorable with sheer joy and merriment. Each one of them bless the couple for a healthy life and children. However, in a society that views parenthood as an essential element of a complete marriage, within a few years, the couple finds themselves struggling with infertility. It's been 5 years, and they have not been able to cherish their own blood.

The film also explores whether their love and commitment can stand strong together with the external pressure, leaving viewers to wonder if their marital bond will endure the test of time. Another interesting thing that this film focused on is the immense emotional turmoil the husband goes through. Ofcourse the wife’s pain in unimaginable, but the husband’s psychological trauma is also not something we should take lightly.
