Raadhika Sarathkumar has been roped in to play Silambarasan’s mother in the upcoming movie directed by Gautham Menon.
Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu (VTK) will mark Simbu’s 47th movie that is going to be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. This is their third collaboration after the well-acclaimed Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. Like its predecessors, VTK’s soundtrack is also going to be composed by Isai Puyal AR Rahman. The upcoming movie will be featuring Raadhika Sarathkumar in a vital role, as Simbu’s mother. This will be her second movie with Gautham Menon after the Vikram starrer Dhruva Natchathiram that is awaiting its release.
The report of TOI confirmed that Raadhika Sarathkumar will be appearing as Simbu’s mother in the upcoming rural action drama. The actress took to Twitter to share some of the behind-the-scenes pictures with the actor and with the movie’s art director, Rajeevan. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is scripted by B. Jeyamohan (who also wrote movies like Sarkar, the upcoming Indian 2 and Ponniyin Selvan).
VTK was initially titled Nadhigalilae Neeradum Suriyan, which was also revealed by the director on social media. Ishari Ganesh is producing the movie under the banner of Vels Film International (also produced movies like LKG, Comali and Mookuthi Amman). He spoke of how he was impressed by the movie’s story that was brought in by Gautham Menon.

This will be the first time where Simbu would have lost 15 kgs for getting into the look of his character. He had undergone training with a special instructor for the last six months. The upcoming movie will be featuring a lot of stunts that will be performed by the actor.
The first look of the movie was unveiled on August 6, portraying Simbu in a different avatar. Its reaction from the fans was positive and well appreciated, which increased their anticipation in watching the 47th movie of the actor.
The team of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu started filming the previous day.
