The Rajathanthiram actor is said to have a crucial role in the film
The shoot for Ajith's upcoming film with director H Vinoth is on in full swing in Hyderabad. The latest we hear about the Ajith-starrer is that Rajanthanthiram actor Veera has been roped in for the project. The actor is said to be playing a crucial role in the film. Veera has earlier appeared in films like Vaaranam Aayiram, and had played the lead character in the heist thriller Rajathanthiram, directed by AG Amid, and Nadunisi Naaigal, a psychological thriller directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Interestingly, AK 61 is also said to revolve around a heist.
It was only recently that Asuran actress Manju Warrier was announced as the leading lady of the film. The actress herself had confirmed the same at an event when she was questioned about the film. She had stated at the event she had signed the project as she had liked the script. However, she remained tight-lipped on the other details of the film. It is said that Manju Warrier was brought in as the replacement for Tabu, who was approached for the character.
In the meantime, Ajith will be seen in a dual role in the film, playing the protagonist and the antagonist. Ajith had earlier portrayed dual characters in films like Vaali and Villain. The actor has knocked off some kilos for his role and a fitter version of Ajith has been doing the rounds on the internet.
This is Ajith's third collaboration with H Vinoth. The duo had earlier teamed up Nerkonda Paaravai (remake of the Hindi film Pink) and the action flick Valimai, which marked Ajith's last release. All three films, including AK61 has been bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. After wrapping up the shoot fot AK61, Ajith will work with Vignesh Shivan, who is now basking in the success of his recent release Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
