The much-anticipated action thriller Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari is slated to hit the theatres on August 15, 2024. However, the film is now facing some hurdles as the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has delayed granting the film a certification. The makers announced the same by releasing the official statement on their social media accounts.

John Abraham’s Vedaa release uncertain, here's why!

In a statement released by the makers today, on July 25, they expressed their frustration over the delay by the CBFC. The film’s producers, Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment revealed in the statement that they submitted the film’s certification in advance and have still faced a roadblock.

The film starring John Abraham was screened by CBFC on June 25 and then was referred to a revising committee without making anything clear to the makers and was not given any explaining. The producers claim that they have been relentlessly asking for clarity since then but they heard nothing in return.

The statement read, “We, the producers of Vedaa, feel compelled to share with our fans & supporters that despite our best efforts, we are still to secure a clearance and certification from the CBFC of India.”

“Adhering to protocols we applied for certification well before the prescribed eight weeks to release. Our film was screened for the CBFC on June 25th. Post this, we were advanced to a revising committee review without any explanation as to what the esteemed examining committee’s concerns or objections were. Since then, we have waited patiently for a revising committee to be constituted, impressed on all respected and honourable office bearers and repeatedly daily documented our appeal for certification, consideration or even an explanation. Despite this unusual delay, we have full faith in the system in place and are confident that the CBFC will oblige us rightfully, the statement further adds.

Vedaa is set to arrive in theatres on August 15, 2024. Along with John Abraham and Sharvari, the film also stars Abhishek Banerjee and is directed by Nikkhil Advani.
