The two unique periods of Varun Dhawan's career thus far may be classified as pre- and post-pandemic. Such a change in his cinema preferences throughout this time. His latest casting decisions have changed, such as Jugjugg Jeeyo in which he played a guy coping with his parents' divorce as his own marriage is disintegrating, and Bhediya, in which he played a werewolf who can change its shape. According to him, the films are the outcome of some much-needed reflection.

Varun revealed to Midday that when the lockdown occurred, he was exhausted. The actor believed that he had to pick films that satisfied him creatively. He has dates accessible, but that shouldn't be the justification for doing them. To sign Jugjugg Jeeyo, Bhediya and Nitesh Tiwari's Bawaal, Varun had to wait a very long time. Thus, 2022 has been one of the most fruitful years for creativity. He is most pleased with these three films as an actor.

The actor is happy that fans came to theatres to see his offerings in a year when the majority of Hindi films struggled to debut in reasonable numbers. This year has been so peculiar, with films attempting to draw audiences back into cinemas. Varun anticipated that Bhediya would perform better at the box office than it did. Having said that, he is appreciative that the movie has been watched in theatres and that its box office receipts are larger than those of many. It advises one to attempt to do better.

The actor has been associated with popular masala films over the past ten years. But it's important to remember that he also tried telling unusual tales in Badlapur (2015) and October (2018). His current work reflects the lessons he acquired from these films. Moving forward, Varun is content to work on such films as long as they are financially successful. Since a film appeals to the artist in one way or another, he will, in all honesty, lower his rate to make these films.

Similar to this, Varun will produce films or Bhediya in a particular style if he has to fulfil a broader goal. The actor's philosophy is straightforward: the producer shouldn't lose money, and they should make a fantastic movie. The box office is crucial, but occasionally he wants to perform in films because the actor in him can't resist them.
