The film will be released in July only on Amazon’s Prime Video.
Bawaal is to be released in July this year.
Recently, on June 19, Amazon’s Prime Video confirmed in a press statement that Dangal filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s film, Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, will get a direct-to-digital global premiere on its platform. This news clearly signalled that the film will not be released theatrically.
While fans and well-wishers of the film are yet to sink in the development, a fresh report has poured in claiming that Bawaal is all set to be the first Indian Film to premiere at Eiffel Tower in France soon.
As per a report published in news portal Pinkvilla, it read, “Bawaal will be the first Indian Film to have its premiere at the Eiffel Tower. The premiere will take place at the exquisite Salle Gustave Eiffel, offering a panoramic view of the city of love as the backdrop. Apart from Varun, Janhvi, and Nitesh, the premiere will be attended by movie enthusiasts and French delegates, making it one of the biggest premieres for an Indian film.”
This is indeed going to be a historic moment for Indian cinema. However, the exact date of this movie’s world-premiere is not yet known.
Why is the film premiering in Paris?
Sources close to the developments told Pinkvilla: “Bawaal has a symbolic reference to Paris. The makers have extensively shot some of the key portions in Paris, and the city acts like a character in this tale. The film is essentially a love story with references to World War 2 and the makers are ready to premiere the film in the city of love.”
Why is Bawaal not being released theatrically?
Earlier this year, fans of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor were hopeful that this film will be released theatrically in April this year. However, the makers of the film later decided to postpone the release of the film in April to avoid its clash with Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
Interestingly, the makers of Bawaal have not yet disclosed when the movie will hit the OTT platform.
Bawaal marks the union of producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Nitesh Tiwari after their National Award-Winning outing, Chhichhore.
