According to the recent updates, the Pranav Mohanlal-Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer is set to have 14 songs in its soundtrack. For the uninitiated, Hridayam, the previous outing of director Vineeth Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal had a total of 15 tracks which is quite unusual for a contemporary Malayalam cinema. Interestingly, director Vineeth and music composer Amrith Ramanath, who has composed the music of Varshangalkku Shesham, are set to take this unconventional route yet again, by including 14 songs in the film.
In many of his recent interviews, director Vineeth Sreenivasan mentioned that Hridayam did not have 15 songs at the time of planning. However, when the project was delayed due to the multiple lockdowns amidst the pandemic, music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab and the filmmaker reworked the film’s soundtrack, and more songs were created. This creative decision was ultimately proven right, as the music score of the film received immense love from the cine-goers.
The first single from Varshangalkku Shesham, which is sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan himself, was released online a few days back. The young actor has also been receiving so much love for his charming screen presence. However, a small section of the viewers has mixed reactions to the song and feel that Pranav is merely imitating his legendary father Mohanlal’s classic expressions and mannerisms, in the song.
Coming back to Varshangalkku Shesham, Nivin Pauly is making an extended cameo appearance in the movie which features Basil Joseph, Aju Varghese, Vineeth Sreenivasa n, Neeraj Madhav, Neeta Pillai, Arjun Lal, Nikhil Nair, Shaan Rahman, and others in supporting roles.
