Varisu trailer hits 10M views in record time, Thalapathy Vijay fans storm theatres to watch the promo video

The trailer of Vijay's upcoming movie Varisu has been released by makers at 5 pm, leaving the star's fans thrilled. Despite evoking mixed reactions, the promo video has been lapped up by the star's admirers. The trailer of the film's Telugu version, Vaarasudu, too, was released at 7 pm.

As expected, the Tamil trailer has started creating new records on YouTube. It has already clocked 10M views and has set a new benchmark. The record number of views has been attained in a span of two hours and 10 minutes, and has easily surpassed the feat set by the trailer of Ajith's Thunivu recently.

The latter clocked 10M views only after five hours. Needless to say, Thalapathy fans are celebrating the same on social media. They hope that the film, too, would satisfy them and emerge as the Pongal winner at the box office. Many fans of Vijay stormed various theatres in Tamil Nadu which screened the trailer today evening.

Fans of the star have been posting videos and pictures from the event which happened in several movie halls across the state. They are now looking forward to the YouTube views after 24 hours.

While Thunivu will be releasing officially on January 11, makers of Varisu are yet to come up with an update on its date. The latter was earlier announced to be released on January 12, but it looks like there is a high possibility of change in plans.

Kollywood is set to witness the big box office clash this festive season in January. With just a week away for releases, fans of both the stars have started flexing their muscles on social media.
