Vanangaan, directed by Bala, has Arun Vijay and Roshni Prakash in the lead. The film was initially planned with Suriya as the lead.
The dubbing for the much-anticipated Bala film Vanangaan has officially begun with an auspicious puja function. The film, helmed by Bala, was announced earlier with its first-look poster featuring Arun Vijay in September.
In the latest development, the Bala film has officially started the dubbing work and several crew members were present for the occasion. Director Bala, director AL Vijay, director Mysskin and the technical crew of the upcoming film were present. Mysskin and Samuthirakani are set to play pivotal roles in the film.
More about Vanangaan
The movie was first announced with actor Suriya onboard. However, Bala later released an official statement in which he stated that he wished to make a film titled Vanangaan with Suriya, but since certain changes were made to the script, he was apprehensive whether the story would suit the Jai Bhim star.
“I didn't want to let down my younger brother who believes in me and respects me so much. So, after mutual discussion, we have both decided to let Suriya off the film” he explained in the statement.
New star cast
Suriya was replaced with Arun Vijay in the film, which features Roshni Prakash as the female lead. Samuthirakani is also part of the star cast. GV Prakash has been retained as the composer, while Sathish Suriya is handling the editing for the film. The film is backed by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions in association with Bala's B Studios.
New poster featuring Arun Vijay
In September, the team unveiled a poster, which painted an intriguing picture of Arun Vijay slathered in cement or mud. He was also seen holding a sculpture of Lord Ganesh in one hand and a sculpture of social reformer Periyar in the other. The poster had become the talk of the town.
Taking to his social media handle, Arun Vijay wrote, “Privileged to be wielded by the master craftsman, Director @IyakkunarBala sir himself, here it is!! Excited and humbled to share the first look of #Vanangaan with you all (sic).” Although the poster was unveiled, the plot of the film is still kept under wraps.
