The horror comedy universe expands with Vampires of Vijay Nagar blending modern thrills with ancient history.
If you have watched Stree 2 you know the film sets the stage for Vampires of Vijay Nagar. In the climax scene, Varun Dhawan's character Bhaskar informs Janaa, played by Abhishek Banerjee, that blood-sucking creatures are causing chaos in Delhi. As per the latest reports, the producers are now preparing to launch the film, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.
Aditya Sarpotdar will direct the horror comedy's Mumbai shoot, which will start in the first week of October 2024, according to Mid-day. The leads will face the camera during the third week of the shoot. When it comes to the horror comedy canon, what exactly is the next installment about? Reports say that the film takes place in two time periods, one in ancient Vijayanagara and the other in a little hamlet in northern India. The parts showing the present will be Sarpotdar's primary emphasis in the first schedule.
A source told the tabloid that there will be a night shift to start the first schedule. The crew is planning to create a set that looks like a northern Indian town. Rashmika portrays a multifaceted character, while Ayushmann portrays a sports fanatic and adventurer. Additionally, she'll be sporting a unique style for the flick. In the first week of September 2024, they'll have film look tests.
The source also suggests that the history of Vijayanagara, the present-day city of Hampi, which was the capital of the thriving Vijayanagara Empire in the 14th century, will play an important role in the novel. After finding success with Munjya a few months ago, Sarpotdar has recruited the majority of the crew from that film.
The crew includes production designers Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray, director of photography Saurabh Goswami, costume designer Sheetal Sharma, and writer Niren Bhatt. With his extensive experience writing Bhediya [2022], Munjya and Stree 2, the writer has a knack for weaving together different stories and has crafted a compelling history for Vampires of Vijay Nagar.
