Director AB Binil’s Vamanan, starring Indrans in the lead role, is finally set for its OTT release. The movie, which is a psychological horror-thriller, had hit theatres in December 2022 and a Tamil remake was also announced the following month.

Apart from Indrans, the movie also has Seema G Nair, Hareesh Kanaran, Baiju Santosh and Niramal Palazhi in pivotal roles.

What is the story of Vamanan?

The film revolves around Indrans’ character and his family comprising his daughter, who moves to a village due to his work as a homestay manager. The dilapidated mansion he is supposed to guard, though, is believed to be haunted. After noticing unexplained incidents, which hint at the presence of another person at the mansion, he reports it to the cops, who are not convinced. How he decided to tackle the predicament himself forms the plot of the movie, which is also scripted by Binil.

Incidentally, soon after the release of the movie, its director had taken to social media to announce that Vamanan will be remade into Tamil with a popular actor and the remake has been titled Ayul.

When and where to watch Vamanan?

Vamanan is set to begin streaming on Manorama Max from June 16. The platform has also bought the streaming rights for Bhavana and Sharafudheen’s feel-good romantic comedy Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnnu as well as the social thriller Live, which has an ensemble cast featuring Mamta Mohandas, Shine Tom Chacko, Priya Prakash Varrier and Soubin Shahir.

Meanwhile, Vamanan marked the second thriller that Indrans was part of last year, following Ratheesh Reghunandan’s Udal, which also starred Dhyan Sreenivasan and Durga Krishna in pivotal roles. Incidentally, Udal also set to begin streaming this month on Amazon Prime Video, as per reports. The makers are yet to officially confirm the release date and the OTT platform though.
