The most recent film to be re-released in Malayalam is Mammootty's classic action drama, Valyettan. The film's producer, Baiju Ambalakkara, stated in an interview with a media outlet that they intend to re-release the movie as an Onam 2025 release on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. Additionally, he confirmed that 90% of the remastering process was finished. This news has excited Mammootty fans who have been waiting for one of the actor's classics to hit the big screen again.
After losing a civil lawsuit against his nephew Arakkal Madhavanunni, Kuttikrishnan Nair was forced to give up the ancestral home he had been living in unlawfully for many years. From his early years, Patteri Sivaraman, the son of Kuttikrishnan, harboured a strong animosity and resentment for Madhavanuni. As he succeeds in business on his own, Madhavanunni shows great concern for his brothers, Raghu, Dasan, Appu, and Shankaran Kutty. The remainder of the movie centres on how they work together to overcome the challenges posed by their foes.
In addition to Mammootty, the supporting cast included Shobana, Sai Kumar, Kalabhavan Mani, N F Varghese, Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, and Innocent. Viewers of all ages watch the movie, which was among the biggest grossing Malayalam films of 2000, whenever it comes on television since it has a high repeat value. This film was directed by Shaji Kailas.
