Valimai: Upcoming action-thriller to feature Ajith and Kartikeya as friends-turned-foes?

Directed by H Vinoth, the upcoming Thala starrer is expected to be out during Pongal next year

The release of the Ajith starrer Valimai is very much anticipated by the Thala fans and movie-lovers. Even though the star does not appear in too many films, he does ensure to leave an indelible mark among the audience. Fans have been always looking forward to every detail being shared about the film. The latest bit of information reveals that the characters of Thala and the Rx100 star Kartikeya Gummakonda, who will be seen locking horns in the movie, were once friends.

Recently, stills of Valimai were brought out by Ananda Vikatan where one of them featured Ajith and Kartikeya Gummakonda posing together on bikes, looking pleasant and smiling. This raised a lot of speculation of whether their characters were once buddies. At the same time, it could also be considered as a behind-the-scenes snap, where the shoot was one of the unforgettable moments on sets.

As we all know, Kartikeya Gummakonda will be playing the antagonist in Valimai, who is all set to destroy Thala in the movie. The upcoming action-thriller also marks the Rx100 star’s debut in Tamil cinema. Let’s hope and see what their stories are when the movie comes out.

Meanwhile, Ajith had earlier played roles where his character was once friends with the antagonist in the movie. Movies like Mankatha, Yennai Arindhaal and Vivegam saw Thala sharing friendship with the opposite star/antagonist.

Talking about Valimai, we will see Ajith battling against illegal bike racing in the movie, where he is touted to play a cop on-screen. We will also get to see the bike-enthusiast don the bike attire and ride the beast in the movie.

Directed by H Vinoth of Nerkonda Paarvai fame, and backed by Boney Kapoor, Valimai is slated to have its theatrical release on Pongal, next year.
