Ajith Kumar’s Valimai has been locked for a release on February 24 after many delays. H. Vinod's directorial is one of the most anticipated movies in South India, and now producer Boney Kapoor has said that the movie will be Ajith’s first pan-Indian film.

Speaking in an interview with Times of India, Kapoor said, ““The film has family drama, fantastic action and also something for the audiences to take home. So, it has the potential to work everywhere. You can call this the beginning of a pan-India release for Ajith’s films,”.

The star, who has one of the biggest fanbases in the state, is now waiting for the release of his movie in Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.

Kapoor also talked about OTT, saying that OTT is now part of our revenue stream and also helps us reach a wider audience. But he also added that certain projects, like Valimai, are meant for the big screen and that he believes in making films for the big screen.

Valimai is the second time the actor-director-producer trio are working together. They previously collaborated on Nerkonda Paarvai in 2019, which was the official Tamil remake of the Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury fil, Pink, starring, Taapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bachchan, Kirti Kulhari, and Andrea Tariang.

Valimai also stars Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya Gummakonda, and Yogi Babu and has Nirav Shah handling the camera. With Vijay Velukutty as editor, the pan-Indian project has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The movie will see Kumar playing a police officer, who is assigned to track down a group of outlaw bikers following their involvement in crimes. After months of online activity and excitement, the movie will hit theaters on February 24, 2022.
