Valimai: Ajith-Huma Qureshi’s film gets an OTT release date?

The action-thriller is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor

Valimai is certainly on a hot streak at the moment when it comes to the box office. The Ajith starrer action thriller had one of the biggest opening days of any recent Kollywood release when it opened on February 24 and recently, it was reported that the film has raked in over Rs.100 crores over the course of three days. As fans flock to theatres to catch the film on the big screen, there are bound to be a few among them who miss out on a ticket. But fret not, as it seems that the film will make its way onto OTT platforms soon.

According to a report in Binged, it is being speculated that Valimai will be released on ZEE Tamil on March 25, 2022. So the action thriller would be released digitally four weeks after its theatrical release. The makers are yet to release an official announcement regarding the film’s OTT release.

Even before its release, the film had been much talked about and also got a popular hashtag from netizens who were anxiously waiting for updates on the film. The hashtag ValimaiUpdate had become a trending topic on Twitter and the film had also made its way to become one of the most-tweeted-about films of 2021.

In addition to Ajith, the film also stars Kartikeya Gummakonda, Huma Qureshi, Yogi Babu, Pugazh, Sumitra, GM Sundar and Pearle Maaney in crucial roles. The film has been written and directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor under his banner Bayview Projects LLP, along with Zee Studios. The film is the second consecutive collaboration between Ajith, Vinoth and Kapoor after their 2019 film Nerkonda Paarvai.
