The trailer of Valatty – Tale of Tails was unveiled by the team on Wednesday
Debutant director Devan’s Valatty- Tale of Tails had caught the attention of the audience when it was first announced almost three years. The team has now revealed a host of surprises, including the actors who have lent their voices to the film, which feature real-life dogs as the protagonists.
The movie’s trailer, which was released by the cast and crew through their social media pages, revealed the multiple canines who play the lead roles in the film including a Rottweiler, Golden Retriever and Cocker Spaniel.
While the makers had kept the names of the actors who will be voicing these dogs under wraps till now, the trailer revealed Soubin Shahir, Indrans, Sunny Wayne, Roshan Mathew, Aju Varghese, Ranjini Haridas and Mahima Nambiar are all part of Valatty. Rohini, Akshay Radhakrishnan and Vijay Babu will also be playing characters in the film, which is set to hit theatres on July 14.
The film, which is written by Devan and produced under the banner of Friday Film House, has been planned as pan-Indian release in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The film's trailer also addresses the stray dog menace, which has once again become an issue after a child was mauled to death recently, while also placing arguments from the side of the animals.
In an earlier interview with us, Devan said, “The pre-production and post-production were the most time-consuming as both phases took us about one and half years each. The shoot didn’t take us a lot of time. The film needed some preparation to shoot and also the post-production, because it’s an experimental movie and no one has made such a movie yet, we had to learn everything by doing.”
The director also said that the entire film is told through the perspective of dogs, unlike the recent superhit Kannada film 777 Charlie. The shoot of Valatty was in Kollam and Kottayam and the team had trained the dogs extensively as part of the pre-production of the venture.
Vishnu Panicker is the cinematographer of the movie, which has music by Varun Sunil and editing by Ayoob Khan.
