Vadhuvu OTT release date: When and where to watch Avika Gor’s wedding drama

Nandu and Ali Reza too play key roles in the web original directed by Krishna Poluru

Avika Gor, who took a brief break from Telugu cinema post 2016, is gradually returning to form. She has a handful of film offers and is also making a mark in the OTT space. While Avika made a comeback with Raju Gari Gadhi 3 in 2019, she has starred in a variety of films and web originals ever since - including #Net, Bro, Thank You, 10th Class Diaries, Popcorn (that she co-produced) and Mansion 24.

After Popcorn, 1920: Horrors of the Heart and Mansion 24, Avika has another OTT release while planning to sign off in 2023 on a high. Continuing her association with Disney+ Hotstar, the actress next stars in a web show titled Vadhuvu, a marriage drama. Krishna Poluru, the director behind films like Buchinadu Kandriga and the crime thriller Recce, wields the megaphone for the same.

Shrikanth Mohta and Mahendra Soni of SVF, known for their Bengali web originals, are bankrolling the show. After launching multiple posters and teasers, Disney+ Hotstar has confirmed that the drama would release on the streamer on December 8. The other actors part of the show include Nandu, Ali Reza, Mounika, Madhavi Prasad, Amma Ramesh, K L K Mani, Soujas, Surabhi Padmaja and Deepthi.

Ram K Mahesh cranks the camera for Vadhuvu while Shalini Nambu is the creative producer. NK Ram is the co-director and Samuel Neil is the executive producer respectively. Sharmela is the art director and Anusha Punjala is the costume designer. Anil Kumar and Sriram Maddury, who collaborated with Krishna Poluru for Recce earlier, are the editor and the composer respectively.

The teaser of the show indicated a tale where a girl is stuck in a dilemma about her marriage and there’s some mystery about the family that she’s entering into. What’s in store for the bride? Vadhuvu promises to offer nail-biting drama and tension, backed by compelling performances. Skanda, Daya, Masterpeace, Mansion 24, and Kannur Squad are among its recent releases.
