Uttarakaanda also stars Sandalwood Queen Ramya in the lead role who will try her hand at the North Karnataka dialect for the first time in her career.
Dhananjaya, KRG Studios and filmmaker Rohit Padaki's previous collaboration yielded a whimsical comedy-drama titled Rathnan Prapancha. Although the film was a direct OTT release, it received positive reviews from critics and also emerged as a huge hit on streaming, making it a one-of-a-kind success on the digital medium.
With this to their name, the trio would announce another project about a year later but this time around, the project on hand was no family-drama, but a bigger and mass-ier gangster story set entirely in North Karnataka. The film we refer to, of course, is Uttarakaanda and on the occasion of leading man Dhananjaya's birthday, the makers have given a taste of this enterprising tale of street gangsters.

Uttarakaanda promises a unique world
But unlike most gangster films, Rohit Padaki has evidently cast a vibrant and colour gaze at his world, with Dhananjaya's character Gabru Sathya unabashedly embodying it. As the teaser reveals, Uttarakaanda boasts every bit of the lyrical humour and mischief that one finds in the Uttarakarnataka dialect, including the endearing profanity we find in it. There's also crime, comedy and a lot of benki or fire, both literally and in spirit. Charan Raj's score as usual, is likely to be one of the main highlights of the film.
Uttarakaanda also stars Sandalwood Queen Ramya in the lead role who will try her hand at the North Karnataka dialect for the first time in her career. The film will be made and released in two parts and Karthik Gowda, the film's co-producer, reveals that there will be other big names, too, part of the principal cast.

How did Twitter react to Gabru Sathya and the hot Balushah?
The special character intro teaser might have dropped only a couple of hours ago but comments have already come flowing in and they are extremely positive at the moment. The dialogues, as expected, have caught the attention of the netizens who are kicked about the prospects now, saying that they are looking forward to the Uttara Karnataka slang in the film. "Thats how beautiful, hidden , entertaining is namma uttarakarnatakada bashe," said one user while others referred to one particular dialogue that, unfortunately, cannot be mentioned here!
