Written and directed by Phanideep, the film releases in theatres on August 12
Sri Simha Koduri, who was recently seen in the crime comedy Bhaag Saale, is gearing up for another release this year. His next is an ambitious drama, Ustaad, written and directed by Phanideep. Kavya Kalyanram, the Balagam, Masooda girl, plays the female lead in the film produced by Rajani Korrapati, Rakesh Reddy Gaddam and Himank Reddy Duvvuru. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Anu Hasan, Ravindra Vijay, Venkatesh Maha, Ravi Siva Teja, Sai Kiran Yedida essay other important roles.
The film tells the story of a carefree youngster Surya and the journey towards his dreams. The glimpse showcases Surya's first trip as a pilot along with a senior Joseph D'Souza and how he overcomes his inhibitions to succeed in life. Later, you revisit his teenage years, where he vents all his anger on inanimate objects, but surprisingly takes care of his bike well. When he moves onto another phase in his life, he discovers love.
Yet, Surya keeps struggling for inspiration and misdirects his anger on trivial aspects, losing focus. Suddenly, his mother is surprised to know he wants to turn a pilot. An elderly man says how machines can never cheat anybody. However, there are several roadblocks in Surya's path and a few relationships fall apart as well. Ustaad releases in theatres on August 12, a day after Chiranjeevi's Bholaa Shankar. Pavan Kumar Pappula cranks the camera for the same while Akeeva B is the composer. Carthic Cuts is the editor and the crew also includes the production designer Aravind Mule, sound desginer Ashwin Rajasekhar, costume designer Priyanka Veeraboina. Anantha Sriram, Rahman, Lakshmi Priyanka are the lyricists.
