Actress Ushasie Chakraborty clarified her name was wrongly linked to a viral post about the RG Kar incident.
Actress Ushasie Chakraborty’s name was ‘wrongly’ mentioned in a viral post related to the RG Kar incident. The actress took to her social media to clarify the matter. She further said that she was annoyed by such an incident. The actress shared a partial screenshot on social media and threatened legal steps.
Ushasie has been vocal against the rape and murder of the young doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. On the day of Bhai Phota, she wore a saree on whose border was written “Spine not for sale.” On the back of the blouse, "Abhaya does not die" was written. On Monday, she sent out a ‘fake post alert’ message by sharing the screenshot of the viral post.
Ushasie wrote that for some days a post was being circulated on WhatsApp and it was said to be collected from her post. The post mentioned and gave photos of some people who were close to Sandip Ghosh. Ushasie made it clear that it was not written by her and she never verified the information shared by the post. She never posted anything on this matter and wondered why it was shared with her name.
Ushasie then condemned the attempt to share the unverified post with her name on it and said she had no iota of relation with this post. She asked those who were sharing the post on social media to remove her name or else she threatened to take legal steps. Ushasie said that those who passed unverified content by her name were not the well-wishers of Abhaya's justice movement. She ended the post by expressing solidarity with the movement.
