Unni Mukundan reveals why he turned down Bollywood offers; says Jai Ganesh is his best film yet

The back-to-back box office hits, including Meppadiyan and Malikappuram, have placed Unni as one of the most sought-after talents in the Malayalam film industry. The actor will be next seen in Jai Ganesh, the upcoming Ranjith Sankar directorial. Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Unni Mukundan opened up about receiving offers from Bollywood and his dream project.

Unni Mukundan reveals why he turned down Bollywood offers

In a recent interview with The New Indian Express, Unni Mukundan revealed he has been receiving offers from Bollywood. According to the popular Malayalam actor, he was approached to play the lead role in some sex comedies. However, Unni is not keen to be a part of such projects. The actor is hopeful that things will get better soon, as the barriers between the film industries are slowly blurring.

Unni Mukundan’s dream project

Interestingly, Unni Mukundan also extensively spoke about his dream project, an army-themed film, in his chat with TNIE. The actor-producer revealed that he also plans to bankroll the project under his home banner, Unni Mukundan Films. According to the Meppadiyan actor, another major star will also be a part of the untitled project if it is being made on a massive scale. He confirmed that the movie will be primarily made in Malayalam but will be dubbed in all major Indian languages. More updates on the project are expected to be out very soon.

Unni Mukundan about his upcoming films

The actor also extensively spoke about his upcoming projects, including Jai Ganesh, Marco, Get Set Baby, Gandharva Jr, and the Tamil film Garudan, in the interview. Unni Mukundan, who is confident about Jai Ganesh, stated that the haters will not find anything to criticise about his character in the film. Interestingly, he also added that it is his best film yet.

Gadharva Jr is a complete fantasy film with superhero elements, while Marco is an all-out action film. According to the actor, Get Set Baby is a fun film that narrates the subject of IVF from a man’s perspective. Garudan, on the other hand, is a rural subject. Interestingly, along with acting, Unni Mukundan is also planning to kickstart his journey as a filmmaker soon and has already written a script for himself.
