The Japanese drama Unnatural will soon stream on two platforms: Rakuten Viki and Netflix. Ahead of its Viki release on May 19, the forensic drama will be premiering on Netflix. It is slated to release 10 episodes on May 1. It features a solid ensemble cast with popular artists like Satomi Ishihara, Arata Iura, Masataka Kubota, and others.
The plot for ‘Unnatural’ revolves around the strange or unnatural cases of death investigation. Satomi Ishihara stars as the forensic doctor Mikoto Misumi, who works at the Unnatural Death Investigation Laboratory (UDI Lab). Set in a fictional facility, the teammates solve bizarre cases and bring justice to the deceased.
In the trailer, we witness the forensic experts working on a peculiar case of a heart attack, which is suspicious for serial poisoning. The investigators team up and study the possible causes to give justice to grieving families after losing their loved ones. This 10-episode series is packed with suspense, mystery, and forensic science. Each episode brings a new, bizarre case and a glimmer of hope for the surviving members.

The main cast features Satomi Ishihara as 33-year-old forensic investigator Mikoto Misumi. She is an experienced forensic doctor who dissects bodies to contribute to unsolved deaths. Kei Nakado stars as 41-year-old forensic doctor Arata Iura, and Rokuro Kube stars as 26-year-old recorder Masataka Kubota, who assists Misumi in the mysterious death cases. Yuko Shojia plays Mikako Ichikawa, a 30-something lab technician. The thrilling drama is penned by Akiko Nogi.
