The death of Kajol's The Trial co-star Noor Malabika Das is under investigation.
Noor Malabika Das, last seen in Kajol’s The Trial, was found dead in her Mumbai flat on Monday, June 10. Her family had been staying with her for a long time but had returned to the village two weeks (half a month) ago, around the end of May. The 37-year-old actress’ mortal remains were found after neighbours complained of foul smell from her flat in Lokhandwala (Oshiwara, Mumbai). The police then recovered her body in a decomposed state.
According to a tweet by ANI, Das died by suicide. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Her mortal remains were recovered days later. The case is currently under investigation, and her family members will be interrogated as well.
After recovering her body, the police collected her medicines, mobile phone and diary as evidence in the case. They did her post-mortem in Goregaon’s Siddharth Hospital after nobody from her family could be reached to attend her last rites. The post-mortem took place on Sunday, June 9, with the assistance of Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO. The organizations handle the cremation of unclaimed bodies. They ended up telling Mid-Day that the family returned to their village two weeks back.
