The teaser of the redemption thriller, produced by Shine Screens, was unveiled by Naga Chaitanya today
The hit combo that produced Naandhi in 2021, actor Allari Naresh and director Vijay Kanakamedala, is joining forces again for a crime thriller titled Ugram. Mirnaa plays the female lead in the film produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi of Shine Screens. While the thriller is gearing up for a summer release, the teaser was unveiled by Custody star Naga Chaitanya at an event today.
Allari Naresh, who has played a comedy cop on a handful of occasions, returns to don the khaki again in an intense avatar this time. The actor looks sharp and focused in his latest outing, where he is an honest, no-nonsense officer, feared by goons and gangsters. When an antagonist challenges to confront him minus his uniform, the cop responds it wouldn’t make any difference to his persona.
While the story of a cop-gone-rogue owing to a personal tragedy seems familiar enough, the slick yet massy treatment promises to keep the viewers invested this time. Naresh is married and a father to a girl in the film. He unleashes his inner demon when the antagonists attack his family and the cop won’t rest until he settles scores with them. The action choreography and the power-packed dialogues make an impression as well.
Toom Venkat has written the story of Ugram, Sid cranks the camera for the same. Abburi Ravi pens the dialogues while Sricharan Pakala is the composer. Chota K Prasad is the editor of the film whose crew also includes production designer Brahma Kadali as well. Naresh, who played realistic characters in Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam and Naandhi, is treading the mainstream hero path for this project.
The Ugram star has reportedly signed Nagarjuna’s next (the veteran’s 99th film) to be directed by popular writer Prasanna Kumar Bezawada as well. The film’s leading lady was last seen alongside Aadi Saikumar for the comedy entertainer Crazy Fellow (now streaming on aha and Amazon Prime). The release date of Ugram will be made official shortly.
