Vijay Kanakamedala had directed the action thriller produced under Shine Screens
Ugram, an action thriller, starring Allari Naresh, Mirnaa in the lead roles, directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, brought together the popular actor-director combo of Naandhi again. The film released in theatres on May 5 amidst high expectations but met with a moderate response at the box office. After its brief theatrical run, the actioner is now out on OTT.
Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the Allari Naresh starrer and has begun premiering the film from Thursday night. The film was produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens. It presented the lead actor in an out-and-out action avatar in a thriller that takes terrific twists and turns.
At the time of its release, the film was hailed for its action choreography. Minus the pressure of a theatrical release, will Ugram’s content hold the fort on OTT? Baby Uha Reddy, Indraja, Sharath Lohitashwa, Shatru, Srinivas Sai, Manikanta Varanasi, Nag Mahesh and others essayed other important roles in the violent saga. Toom Venkat had written the story.
The story revolves around a police officer Shiva, who along with his wife Aparna and their kid meet with a ghastly accident on a flyover. When Shiva wakes up at the hospital the next day, his wife and daughter are nowhere to be seen. While the hospital authorities claim he didn’t admit them in the first place, Shiva believes otherwise. Sri Charan Pakala scored the music for the film for which Siddharth J was the cinematographer. Chota K Prasad is the editor of the same and Brahma Kadali is the production designer respectively. Abburi Ravi wrote the dialogues and Kilari Lakshmi Sree designed the costumes. Naresh and Vijay Kanakamedala announced they’d be collaborating on a new film in the coming year after they wrap up their current commitments.
