Ugly Story: Nandu, Avika Gor reunite for a film after their OTT shows Mansion 24, Vadhuvu

Nandu, who’s hosting the pre/post match interactions for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, is keeping himself busy with a handful of film and OTT commitments. While he was seen in OTT originals like Prema Vimanam and Mansion 24 recently, he is awaiting the release of Vadhuvu on Disney+ Hotstar on December 8. Even before Vadhuvu, he’s set to commence work on a new film, announced yesterday.

The actor is set to join hands with Avika Gor again, after working with her in his OTT shows Vadhuvu and Mansion 24 (though they didn’t share screenspace). Their next collaboration is titled Ugly Story. The film marks the directorial debut of Pranava Swaroop. Bekkem Venugopal, the man behind popular films like Cinema Chupista Mama, Hushaaru, Mem Vayasuki Vachaam, is one of the producers.

Ch. Subhashini and Konda Laxman are the other producers for Ugly Story, to be made under Lucky Media and a new banner -Riya Ziya Productions. Raaz and Aswwani Srikrisshna are the co-producers. The film is slated to be a romantic thriller and promises to captivate film buffs and offer a compelling big-screen experience. The story will keep audiences glued while the characters will haunt them, makers say.

Meanwhile, the makers plan to wrap up the film at a frenetic pace. As of now, the producers are already aiming for a February 24 release, which leaves them barely three months for shoot and post-production. Given its limited budget, it’s crucial for the team to complete the project as per schedule and release it at the right time. Will the makers try for a Valentine’s Day slot? We’ll know soon.

Shrie Saikumaar Daara cranks the camera for the film while Malli Raava, Natyam and Dayaa fame Shravan Bharadwaj is the composer. Bhaskarabatla, Varikuppala Yadagiri and Kadali are the lyricists. Srikanth Patnaik R and Vithal Kosanam are the editor and the art director respectively. More details surrounding the cast, shoot schedules will be out shortly.
