It wasn’t long ago when Kylian Mbappe nearly snatched away the World Cup from Argentina single-handedly. He failed. Lionel Messi and his boys braved the storm of the 25-year-old French forward and lifted the trophy in an epic World Cup 2022 final in Qatar.

However, Mbappe, who recently left his old club Paris Saint-Germain and joined Real Madrid, bagged the Golden Boot with eight goals in that tournament. He scored a hat trick in the grand finale. Despite that feat, the French team did not take the defeat lightly. In this UEFA European Championship 2024, they dream of winning the cup.

France wants to win the trophy for their manager Didier Deschamps. He won the World Cup as a player in 1998. In 2018, he was the manager of France and lifted the World Cup. He was the captain of the team in 2000 when France won the UEFA European Championship. This time, the team wanted to win the cup for him. Along with other stars like Griezmann and Olivier Giroud, Mbappe will put his best foot forward.

Meanwhile, France’s first opponent Austria’s greatest advantage is that many of their players are regular at German clubs. In fact, their manager Ralf Rangnick is also a former German footballer.

In another match, Romania defeated Ukraine 3-0. At 9.30 pm, Belgium will take on Slovakia.

In India, Sony Sports Network will broadcast the matches and the Euro 2024 will also stream live on SonyLiv. You can catch them with OTTplay Premium.
