The political thriller, directed by Mari Selvaraj, also has Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu as part of the star cast
The team of Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy's upcoming film Maamannan has completed the shoot. The film, directed by Mari Selvaraj, also has Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu in the lead. Taking to her social media handle, Keerthy, who shared a picture from the set, wrote, "Sharing an image from the ‘Maamannan’ sets, Keerthy captioned, “Thank you for this incredible journey, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Maari Selvaraj, Fahadh Faasil, Vadivelu sir, Theni Eswar and team (sic).”
The film is said to be socio-political drama and Fahadh Faasil will play the antagonist in it. Keerthy also shared pictures from the wrap-up celebration and wrote on her handle, "Super happy to wrap up #Maamannan along with Vaigai Puyal Vadivel sir's birthday. Happy Birthday sir (sic)." Udhayanidhi Stalin, too wrote, "#MAAMANNAN Shooting Wrapped ! (sic)." The team will now begin the post-production.
In the meantime, we hear that the team which shot extensively in Salem, also helped renovate a school in the district. The government school building in Jarugumalai, Salem circle is being renovated under the Namakku Naame initiative.Udhayanidhi Stalin donated over 13 lakh for the same at the shooting spot.
Udhayanidhi, who is also the Chepauk MLA, provided sports equipment to the youngsters there and helped differently-abled women set up a grocery store and also assisted students and the transgender community. It is said that the residents had approached Udhayanidhi for help when they learnt that he was shooting in their locality. Director Mari Selvaraj and Fahad Faasil, too, were spotted with Udhayanidhi during the distribution and the trio clicked pictures with their fans as well.
AR Rahman is scoring the music for the film. While the cinematography is by Theni Eswar, editing is by Azharuddin Alauddin. The film has been bankrolled by Udhayanidhi Stalin's home production, Red Giant Movies.
