Uday Chopra remembers late Yash Chopra on his death anniversary: 'He took a part of me with him'

Uday Chopra took to Twitter and remembered his late father, the filmmaker Yash Chopra on his ninth death anniversary. The Dhoom actor wrote that his father had left a void in not just their family, but the entire Hindi film industry.

He said that despite their differences, they shared a close bond and accepted each other with not "with not just respect, but with humor."

Yash Chopra passed away at the age of 80 due to multiple-organ failure caused by dengue fever. His last and final directorial was the Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma drama Jab Tak Hai Jaan in 2012. During his career as a filmmaker, he came to be recognised as the King of Romance for his films like Kabhie Kabhie, Lamhe, Dil To Pagal Hai, Veer Zara, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge among others.

Uday Chopra was last seen on screen in Dhoom 3, where he reprised his role as Ali. He has also forayed into production and has backed films like Grace of Monaco, which stars Nicole Kidman.
