The thriller, directed by Ratheesh Reghunandan, has Durga Krishna as its female protagonist
Veteran actor Indrans has been receiving praise for his performances in serious and heart-warming roles in his movies such as #Home, Anjaam Pathira and Vellam in the past two years. However, in debutant director Ratheesh Reghunandan’s Udal, the State Award-winner will be seen in a terrifying role.
The teaser of the film, which also has Dhyan Sreenivasan and Durga Krishna, was released online on Saturday and went on to rack up 1.3 million views in less than a day. The teaser hints that Dhyan and Durga play a couple, while someone has broken into their house. Indrans, who has lost vision in one eye, can be seen carrying heavy spanners and other items while he drags himself in the house as a petrified Durga and Dhyan search for the intruder.
The movie, which is set to hit theatres on May 20, is produced by Gokulam Gopalan. Ratheesh has also scripted the movie, which has music by William Francis and editing done by Nishad Yusuf. The movie also has Jude Antany Joseph as part of the cast. Despite the thrilling teaser that features dark scenes, the movie is touted to be a family drama.
Meanwhile, Indrans is also part of a host of upcoming projects that have him in the lead as well as playing supporting characters. The actor, who was last seen in Kunchacko Boban’s Pada, will be seen playing a convict in Pulli. He is also part of Pathonpatham Noottandu and Indu VS’ 19(1)(a), which has Nithya Menen, Vijay Sethupathi and Indrajith Sukumaran as part of the cast.
The actor will be playing the lead along with Sharafudheen in Shafi’s upcoming comedy entertainer, which is currently being shot. Indrans is also the protagonist along with Murali Gopy in Sagar’s Kanakarajyam, which is based on a true incident that happened in Kerala.
