From Thira to Kunjiramayanam - Before watching the horror flick Udal, stream these Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrers

Dhyan Sreenivasan was seen in a number of projects in 2023, but most of them failed to impress audiences. However, the actor had managed to score decent numbers in his previous outings such as Adi Kapyare Kootamani and Thira. The actor’s 2022 film Udal is finally going to be streaming on Saina Play after a long wait for its digital release. The horror thriller revolves around Shiny, played by Durga Krishna, who gets in to trouble when her extra marital affair with Kiran (played by Dhyan) is caught by her father-in-law (played by Indrans).

This horror comedy, featuring Dhyan Sreenivasan and Namitha Pramod, revolves around a bunch of college students and a young woman who gets stuck inside the boys’ hostel with no way out. The film was directed and co-written by John Varghese, and received a positive reception upon its release. The film is now gearing up for a second instalment which is expected to be released later this year.

Thira

Streaming on: Amazon Prime

One of the best films from Dhyan’s filmography, Thira is a must-watch for the gripping performances by Shobana and Dhyan Sreenivasan. The Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial follows a human trafficking group, who kidnap girls from a destitute shelter run by Dr Rohini (Shobana). She sets out in search of them, with the help of Naveen (Dhyan), a young man whose sister has also been abducted by the same group. Although the film failed at the box office, the movie was critically acclaimed for its intriguing storyline and performances of the lead actors.

Kunjiramayanam

This Basil Joseph directorial is a laugh riot and features Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Aju Varghese in the lead roles. The movie revolves around the humorous events that take place in a rustic village named Desham and follows a group of youngsters. The movie was well received for its hilarious dialogues and great performances from the lead cast.

Khali Purse of Billionaires

Streaming on: Sun NXT

Directed by Maxwell Jose, Khali Purse of Billionaires starring Dhyan Sreenivasan, Arjun Ashokan, Aju Varghese, and Tanvi Ram narrates the story of two friends who face a financial crisis when their startup fails. So, one of them decides to get married to end the monetary problems. What happens next forms the crux of the story. The film, however, did not perform well at the box office.
