Turbo: Mammootty, Vysakh teaming up for an entertainer that Jayasurya was meant to headline?

The shooting of the upcoming Mammootty’s Turbo is set to commence today. The film’s screenplay is written by Midhun Manuel Thomas.

The title poster for Malayalam megastar Mammootty’s upcoming movie Turbo has been unveiled on Tuesday. Director Vysakh who has collaborated with the star twice before for ‘Pokkiri Raja’, ‘Madhura Raja’ will be directing this project for which the screenplay is written by Midhun Manuel Thomas.

The actor took to his social media handle to unveil the poster of the film, with the caption, “Introducing the title poster of our fifth production venture.”

The first poster of the film features a striking punch, which piqued the interest of fans. Interestingly, in 2018, writer-director Midhun had announced his project with actor Jayasurya titled ‘Turbo Peter’, which was set to go on floors in 2019. However, the shoot of the film did not happen and the duo had then planned to collaborate for Aadu 3.

Based on the similarity with the titles, the upcoming Mammootty film could be based on the same script. Touted to be an entertainer, the film will also have Anjana Jayaprakash in the lead.

The upcoming film will be distributed by Dulquer Salmaan's production house, Wayfarer Films.

Kannur Squad reigns supreme at the box office

Mammootty's most recent film was the critically acclaimed crime thriller 'Kannur Squad,' which has been raking impressive numbers at the box office . The official global earnings report for 'Kannur Squad' was released by the actor’s home production house, Mammootty Kampany, confirming that the film garnered a total of Rs 75 crore. The film also features Kishore, Vijayaraghavan, Rony David Raj, Azeez Nedumangad and Shabareesh Varma in important roles.

Midhun Manuel Thomas’ next projects

Meanwhile, Turbo writer Midhun is gearing up for the release of three upcoming films; directorial with Jayaram’s Abraham Ozler, Garudan starring Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon, and Phoenix, with Anoop Menon and Aju Varghese.
