Telugu actor writes an emotional letter to his fans saying that he has left the makers to decide for an OTT or theatrical release of the film,,
The Natural Star Nani has been opposing the OTT release of his action drama Tuck Jagadish as he had promised his fans that it would have a theatrical release. But now, the actor seems to have given up and left the final decision of its release to the director and other stakeholders, owing to restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And, the makers of the action family drama seem to have finalised an OTT release on the streaming giant Amazon Prime Video.
According to telugucinema.com, the film’s direct-digital rights are snapped up by streaming giant Amazon Prime Video for a whopping Rs 37 crore, one of the biggest deals in the Telugu film industry. Once Amazon Prime makes an official statement about the deal, the premiere date will be announced too.
In an open letter that Nani tweeted captioning 'Love always', he says he is the biggest fan of theatres and wanted his fans to watch the film on the big screens with a full house. But due to unfortunate circumstances and COVID-19 induced restrictions, he has now left for the producers to decide where and how to release the film. He ends the note by saying that he assures to do everything in his capacity to ensure that his film reaches everyone.
This has left many fans of the actor heartbroken. One of them responded to his tweet and wrote: "For the first time, your tweet is hard to read". But many seem to be understanding of the situation and pouring in their support for the actor too. His fan association Always Nani Fans has replied that they will always be with him, no matter what's decided about the film's release.
This is Nani's second project with the director Shiva Nirvana. Tuck Jagadish is produced by Shine Screens. The film also features Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Jagapathi Babu in main roles.
