In Trial Period, Genelia D’Souza plays ektara and dances with Piriti Kathaler Atha
Dressed in a red and white lehenga, Genelia D’Souza wins hearts as she plays ektara -- a traditional folk music instrument -- and dances with the famous Bengali Baul song, Piriti Knathaler Atha. It is a song from the film, Trial Period, which premieres on July 21 on Jio Cinema. Written and directed by Aleya Sen, the film also features veteran Bengali actor Barun Chanda, who is seen dancing to the song as well. Besides, Manav Kaul plays the lead, with Shakti Kapoor, Sheeba Chaddha, Gajraj Rao, Swaroopa Ghosh, Zidane Braz, and others in pivotal roles.
The song was dropped on July 14 and received love from the netizens. Shreya Ghoshal and Dev Negi sang the song.
Prititi Kathaler Atha (Love is like strong glue that doesn’t leave) is a song that celebrates longingness for love. Purna Das Baul – one of the famous Baul singers from Bengal immortalised the song years ago. It has been rendered by many artists across the world. Now, the same song gets a makeover and Shreya’s impeccable rendition has impressed the audience. The music has been masterfully re-created by Kaushik-Guddu. Besides Shreya and Dev Negi’s rendition, a captivating rap segment by Guddu has added a contemporary twist to the song.
