Netflix has just announced a limited series, which is inspired by the bestseller book, Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, on the authors' real-life experiences of horror and tragedy. The upcoming thriller show stars Rajshri Deshpande and Abhay Deol in the titular roles.
The real-life story talks about the day when 59 people lost their lives, while over 100 got injured in the fire that took place in Uphaar Cinema in South Delhi. The tragedy that occured over 25-years ago has made muliple family live with the unfortunate sad reality of losing their family and loved ones.
Talking about the show, the official website of Netflix shares, "The limited series will depict their endless trials and tribulations in the pursuit of justice over twenty-four years while also looking at the other lives touched and destroyed by the fire."
The OTT giant shared a poster with the announcement on their official Instagram handle with a piece of information in the caption that reads, "Watch the difficult yet resilient journey of two parents- Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, trying to seek justice over the last two decades, in #TrialByFire on 13th January. (sic)."

The upcoming law drama is written for the screen and directed by Prashant Nair. Speaking about the web series, the filmmaker shared in an official statement that Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy are inspiring examples of the kind of resilience and fortitude it takes to move the needle even slightly in this country.
Trial By Fire, which also features Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla and Shardul Bharadwaj in key roles, is all set to drop on Netflix on January 13.
